More (7!) Yasso 800s

Today I got in my interval workout that I was supposed to run yesterday--7 Yasso 800s.  My total workout went like this:

2 miles @ 10:54 pace (warm up)
7 Yasso 800s
1.7 miles @ 10:12 pace

Total: 9 miles in 1:28:53

The run felt pretty good. I was working hard during the speed intervals, but not so hard I couldn't breathe. I think my heart rate got into the mid-to-high 180s. I like to do my warm up miles nice and slow before I run intervals to keep my heart rate low before I get into the thick of my workout. I don't want to stress my body too much before the important part of my workout and then not be able to complete it--I've had that happen to me before and I will not be making that mistake again.

I wore this cute new lululemon top (the Run: Speed Squad Tank) that I got a few weeks ago for the second time today, along with my beloved speed shorts. I'm falling more and more in love with it.

Yeah, I don't know what I'm looking at, either.

It's really light weight and the shoulders and sides are made of a mesh that makes the top super breathable, and the draped flaps of fabric in the back add extra ventilation. Every time I wear this tank I'm loving it more.

I just couldn't help myself and had to wear the matching socks.

I really love that all of the lululemon No Show Ultimate socks have "run" and "fast" sewn into them. It's like a little pep talk every time I put on my socks.

Do you have a favorite pair or brand of socks?
Do you have lucky socks for races?
(I have a pair that I always wear on my long runs and in most races.)
How did your runs go today?

  1. I don't have a favourite brand of socks ... actually, I'm looking into buying a few great pairs of socks. My cotton ones aren't going to hack it through the winter. Any recommendations?

I rocked my 11 mile in 1:18 today. Couldn't be more happy! :)

Your Yasso's sound killer though!! I need to add more speed intervals into my training for sure.

  2. Super cute outfit Beth!!! I wish I wasn't so cheap or else I'd buy a bunch of LuLu stuff. My favorite socks are Balega by far! A little pricey but definitely worth it. No lucky socks so far but perhaps after my 50 miler I'll consider those my lucky ones. ;) My runs were slow but productive I guess...I needed an easy day and I was tired all day today! I hope you're having a great night! :)

  3. I love that top. So cute!!

I always run in Zulu socks. I've only seen them at the Hanson's running store in Michigan and always stock up when I'm home.

Also, great job on the run!

  4. That's a cute top! I have a favorite pair of socks. They are discontinued now and I'd love to be able to buy more of them. They're called Bridgedale Xhale or something like that.

  5. Love that top and I totally would have coordinated the socks too. Way to rock the Yasso's. I should do more interval running like you. For some reason I seem to think I have to be on a track but I could probably just use my garmin and drop the excuses:).
